D.J. Myles Martin has spent his career helping decision makers understand what businesses are worth. The early part of his career was in institutional
wealth management, where he spent more than 10 years as a securities analyst and portfolio manager. During that time, he was responsible for investing
hundreds of millions of dollars into companies he researched and valued—gaining critical market insight and a thoughtful approach he applies to valuing
private businesses.
At Myles Martin & Company, he is hands-on with each client and works closely with business owners, their management teams, accountants, and legal
counsel. He particularly enjoys learning about all types of companies, leadership approaches, and gaining new insights into a wide range of industries.
Mr. Martin is a member of the CBV Institute’s Family Law Working Group and former board member of the CFA Society Toronto. He remains an active
member of professional organizations in both Canada and the U.S., staying connected to the latest thinking in valuation; including, in early 2025,
completing a cryptocurrency course for financial experts, hosted by the NACVA, that focused on tracing and considering digital assets in the context of
independent valuations. He received an AB from Princeton University.
